"Music has a power of forming the character, and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young." ~ Socrates

Greetings -

We’re thrilled that you and your child has joined us each week for a fun-filled, musical adventure. In each class we have been exploring essential developmental skills such as expressive/creative movement, playing and exploring different instruments, listening and echoing, pitch and tone through singing and vocal play as well as some drama and storytelling to invite imagination and ideas.

Lifelong attitudes and understandings about music are deeply rooted in the feelings and emotions we experience in early childhood. While all children are born with the potential to become musical, that potential must be nurtured during the early childhood years if it is to be realized in a lifelong disposition towards music.

Music is much more than an art form...music will make your child smarter. Plus, music has the power to make a beautiful human being not only academically – but one who will be an imaginative, creative thinker who’s sensitive, compassionate and warm. Early musical exposure and training is proven to develop language skills, attentive listening, memorizing and concentration, thinking skills and spatial reasoning. Plus, music is shown to help in Math, Science, Reading, History, and SAT scores.

We do not know how to teach “grace,” but we do know that music instruction can be a venue for bringing out the best in every child. Music itself can be a primary and facilitating force that draws on the most beautiful and imaginative part of a child’s spirit.

It is our hope that you and your child will share in a musical journey that will enable your child’s natural musical gifts to develop and experience a life full of grace and beauty
